The Benita set consists of a careful design and composition that makes it striking for its own simplicity. This set combines rectangular and square shapes playing with matte and shine finish in silver. This model has more possibilities than what you can see with a naked eye, since both earrings and choker can also be worn alone without the hanging pieces.
Benita KOCH-OTTE was a close friend of Gunta Stölzl at the Bauhaus, with whom she became one of the outstanding students of the textile workshop and later innovative instructors. With the rise to power of the National Socialist Party, Benita and her husband, the Czech photographer Heinrich Koch, had to abandon their educational jobs and moved to Prague where her husband died in a traffic accident. Benita returned to Germany, where she dedicated herself to teaching art therapy classes for the disabled and chronically ill at a foundation until she retired in 1957.
Benita's work is mainly characterized by the play of geometric combinations of squares and rectangles that inspired me to design the set that bears her name.
